Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the ramen. Men-Ya Wasshoi takes great pride in offering a menu that celebrates authenticity while adding its own flair. Their signature dish, the rich and flavorful tonkotsu ramen, features a broth that’s been simmered for hours to achieve that perfect balance of creamy texture and deep, savory flavor. It’s the kind of ramen that you can’t stop slurping, leaving you wanting more with every bite.

But it’s not just about the broth. The noodles at Men-Ya Wasshoi are another highlight. They’re handmade daily, ensuring a fresh, chewy texture that perfectly complements the richness of the broth. The toppings, which include tender slices of pork, a soft-boiled egg, and a generous sprinkle of green onions, are always fresh and high-quality. Each ingredient is carefully selected to create a harmonious blend of flavors, making each bowl a treat for your taste buds.

If you're not in the mood for tonkotsu, the menu offers a variety of other options, including lighter shoyu (soy sauce) and miso-based ramen. These dishes showcase the versatility of the restaurant’s approach, ensuring there's something for every type of ramen lover. The miso ramen, for example, has a savory yet slightly spicy kick, making it a favorite among those who enjoy a bolder flavor profile.

For those who like to customize their ramen, Men-Ya Wasshoi offers several add-ons, including extra noodles, seasoned toppings, and even a side of gyoza (Japanese dumplings) to complete your meal. It’s the little touches like this that show the restaurant’s dedication to creating a personalized experience for each customer.

  • Came in the 4pm. Even you can't speak Japanese, look at the menu and just point. Tasty mix noodles (maze men). You can choose how much noodles also with this dish from 150g to 300g. They have free oolong tea to wash down the yummy noodles also. The taste is thick and flavorful. Service was quick since there weren't many people but I can imagine it being busy in the evening due to its cheap prices and proximity to a few local colleges. They even have hair rubber bands and paper prints available of you don't want to get yourself messy.

  • Food was great and the portions were big. They give out extra large portions for no additional costs. The staff is very friendly and even enjoy talking to foreign customers. The vibe of the restaurant is good with great music playing in the background.

  • This restaurant specializes in Jiro style ramen, a ramen where the bowl has lots of veggies, garlic and noodles. Walked in without knowing how much I was going to have to eat, but finished their signature bowl containing 500g of cabbages and beansprouts, as well as 150g of noodles. Definitely try their kaarage! It's freshly prepared, then fried and full of flavour! The staff were super accommodating, with members being able to converse in English and Mandarin. Do drop by for a fun experience and killer soundtrack!
